I visited a starry sky reserve in Japan.

I recently visited Kozushima, one of the Izu Islands in Japan! It is recognized as a starry sky protection area, creating a nighttime environment free from the glow of city lights, making it exceptionally dark at night. However, the night sky is adorned with a breathtaking display of stars.

Kozushima is a small island located about 9 hours by boat from Tokyo. The island is quite tiny, with a population of around 1,500 people. The sea surrounding it is incredibly clear, and during the summer, you might even have the chance to witness sea turtles laying their eggs.

It’s a place where the anime song “Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” fits the scenery perfectly. If you ever come to Japan, why not consider visiting Kozushima?
